What is the best RV route From Salt Lake City to Yellowstone?

If you’re trying to make good time, the best route is to follow the I-15 to Idaho Falls, then the US-20 to Yellowstone. Once you’re in the park you can take the 191 south to Upper Geyser Basin. This route will take you just under six hours, not including stops.
There are 20 RV parks along this route, so you can go at your own pace. There are also tons of things to see and do. You can make a day stop at the Golden Spike National Historical Park and learn about the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, or go for a soak at Crystal Hostprings in Honeyville, UT.

- Grand Prismatic Spring
- Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch
- Upper Mesa Falls
- Idaho Potato Museum
- Downata Hot Springs
- Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge
You might also consider taking the I-89 North. There are fewer RV parks on this route and it’s a little longer—about seven and a half hours—but the rolling foothills, rivers, mountains, and canyons you’ll see are worth it. On your way, you can stop at Afton, WY, a fantastic town that gives visitors a taste of its Wild West past!
