What is the best route to Niagara Falls from Connecticut?

I’m planning a weekend trip to Niagara Falls for next month and my family and I will be driving up there from Connecticut. What is the best route for us to take?

Niagara Falls is a breathtaking place to visit and it shouldn’t be too hard for you to drive there. The best route to
Niagara Falls
from
Connecticut
goes north through
Massachusetts
to avoid driving through southern
New York
. It will take around six or seven hours.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
  • Head north into Massachusetts via CT-8
  • Continue north to the town of Lee, where you can then get onto I-90 west
  • Remain on I-90 west as you drive through much of New York—you’ll pass through
    Utica
    and
    Syracuse
, so feel free to stop and explore!
Once you make it to
Buffalo
, the route you need to take will depend on where you are staying and what you plan to do. If you want to head to the Falls right away, you can find them to the northwest of the city.
If you plan on passing into Canada at any point during your trip, make sure you remember to bring your passport. And since the entire trip will take you at least six hours, remember to pack any
road trip essentials
you may need.
Before you head out to Niagara Falls, revisit your car insurance plan to ensure you have the right coverage.
