The gulf coast is beautiful all year round and worth taking a trip to see. The best route from St Louis to Gulf Shores will take you south from St Louis, through western Tennessee, and then through Mississippi before cutting east to Mobile. The trip should take around 12 to 12 hours, though this doesn’t account for stops or heavy traffic.
And while the aforementioned route might be the most efficient, you’ll miss out on seeing some bigger cities. If you want to make the journey into more of a road trip, start by heading east out of St Louis and hit the following cities:
For just a little extra mileage, you’ll have the chance to stop and explore these cities—even staying the night in one depending on your timing. The Gulf coast will still be there when you arrive, so there’s no reason to rush your trip!
