What is the best route from NJ to Boston?

I live in New Jersey and I’m planning on taking my son on a road trip this summer to tour colleges in Boston. What is the best way for me to drive from NJ to Boston?

Looking at colleges can be tiring at times, but it will be worth it when your son finds the right one! Here is a look at the best route from
NJ
 to
Boston
:
  • Make your way to I-95 North.
  • Pass over the
    George Washington Bridge
     and get onto I-87 North.
  • Take the Cross County Parkway to Hutchinson River Parkway to get to Connecticut
Once you make it to
Connecticut
 your options will open up a bit, but I’d recommend driving north
through Hartford
 and then continuing northeast until you make it to Boston.
