What is the best route from Florida to Canada?

I don’t love driving, but my friend from college is having her bachelorette weekend in Montreal. Is there a way to drive from Florida to Canada without spending more than two days on the road?

The best route from Florida to Canada is via I-95 North and I-87 North. These two highways stretch almost the entire distance between Florida and Montreal, although you’ll of course need to take some other roads when you pass near or through large cities.
With this idea in mind, it’s a good idea to program your GPS to take you via I-95 and I-87 North. That way, you’ll be able to adapt to changes in traffic conditions and your own need to rest without completely reworking your directions.
However, it will still take you at least 22 hours to drive between Florida and Montreal, so you’ll need two days on the road at the absolute minimum. You might also consider taking a plane instead. It will likely cost you well over $300 to drive from Florida to Montreal—not including the price of a hotel, food, and any unexpected problems along the way.
You may be able to find a plane ticket for less than the price of gas, and the trip will be much shorter that way!
