The best driving route from Denver to Tampa is to take the I-70 to the I-24 via St. Louis, to the I-75 via Chattanooga. This route will take about 27 hours not including stops, so you’ll need to plan for rest breaks along the way.
To reduce your chances of experiencing road fatigue, we recommend you do this trip in four manageable segments, with the following breakdown:
Denver–Kansas City: 8 hours, 30 minutes Kansas City–Nashville: 8 hours Nashville–Atlanta: 3 hours, 50 minutes (you will gain an hour with the time change) Atlanta–Tampa: 6 hours, 30 minutes
Remember to get plenty of sleep before you start driving. You’ll also want to drive at times that you are normally awake, and pull over at a rest stop if you begin to feel tired.
You’ll also want to make sure that you are properly insured for your trip. Check with your car insurance provider to make sure that you are covered for out-of-state driving.
