Learning how to do an oil change on your own is a great way to help keep your car running longer—and helps you save some money on basic car maintenance! There were four different engines available for the 2017

, but they all take full-synthetic 0W-20 motor oil—which you can buy at any auto parts store or big-box retailers like Walmart or Amazon. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your first oil change:
- Clean up the area where you’ll be working. Make sure you have a smooth, flat surface that accommodates your vehicle plus a few feet of walking space around it. This makes it easy to move in and out from under the car, and provides you with a stable area to safely operate a floor jack and set up jack stands.
- Gather your supplies ahead of time, and place them in an easy-to-reach area. In addition to new motor oil and a filter, you’ll also need a wrench that fits your drain plug—and it’s a good idea to have rags or paper towels on hand to catch spills.
