What is the 2016 Subaru Forester oil type?
My sister has a 2016 Subaru Forester. She’s pretty bad about car care, so I offered to change the oil for her as needed. I’m just not sure what oil I need. What is the oil type for a 2016 Subaru Forester?

Subaru Forester
oil type is SAE 0W-20 full synthetic motor oil. However, you can useSAE 5W-30 or SAE 5W-40 conventional oil if 0W-20 is unavailable. Note that you must change the oil any subsequent time with 0W-20 full synthetic for proper lubrication and better performance.However, if your sister has a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, you need to use SAE 5W-30 motor oil. Don’t use 0W-20 in the turbo Forester, as it may not provide proper lubrication and may damage the engine.
You will need 5.1 quarts for an oil change on the non-turbo 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 5.4 quarts for the turbo model.
