What is the 2016 Acura MDX brake system problem?

Honda recalled 64,785 cars in the U.S. from 2016 to 2019 model years for poor braking performance, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, the issue primarily affected 2017 to 2018 MDXs.
According to information released by Honda, hydrogen gas may become trapped in the brake lines due to insufficient coating of the rear brake calipers. Bubble formation in the brake fluid compromises the hydraulic circuit. During braking, pressure in the line compresses the gas and reduces the force of fluid rushing to the calipers, which can result in the pedal feeling soft and reduce braking power.
