What is the 2013 Kia Soul oil type?

I just bought a used 2013 Kia Soul to act as my commuter car. While I’ve never changed my oil in the past, I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and it seems fairly easy. I’m just not sure what oil to buy. What is the oil type of a 2013 Kia Soul?

According to the 2013 manual, the
Kia Soul
oil type is fully synthetic SAE 5W-20 oil. However, both 5W-30 and 0W-20 are acceptable due to similar viscosities in all options.
To confirm, you can always consult the owner’s manual or look at the oil cap on the engine. Both of these will display the manufacturer’s preferred oil type.
Once you change the oil, make sure to dispose of the old motor oil correctly. You can usually find a drop-off at a recycling center, an auto repair shop, or another collector in your area.
