What is the 2012 Ford F-150 oil type?

Time for another oil change—and I just can’t bring myself to pay $50 for someone else to do it when I can just do it myself. I have a 2012 Ford F-150. What kind of oil do I need to buy?

Right on—changing your own oil is a great way to save a few bucks, especially if you don’t mind doing it! The 2012
Ford F-150
oil type is 5W-20. Usually, your car manufacturer will print the oil type on the oil cap in your engine. If it’s not there, you should be able to find it in your car owner’s manual.
Regular oil changes every 3,000-5,000 miles are super important for the health of every car. It’s also important to make sure your oil never runs low in between changes, as this can cause serious damage to your engine! We recommend keeping a container of 5W-20 in the cab or trunk of your Ford F-150 in case your oil levels ever run low.
