! The 2008 Honda Ridgeline’s oil type is 5W-20 synthetic motor oil. Using the recommended oil will achieve the best possible engine performance. Don’t be confused by the jumble of numbers and letters. 5W-20 means the oil performs well in hot and cold conditions. Synthetic means that the oil contains artificially manufactured chemical compounds, so it has fewer impurities and is less likely to gunk up your engine.
5W-20 synthetic oil is one of the most popular oil types, so you should have no problem finding it on Amazon or at your local auto shop. Mobil 1, Valvoline, and Castrol all produce 5W-20 oil. Just make sure you buy enough! The 2008 Honda Ridgeline takes 4.5 quarts.
