I’m going to buy a new Porsche Boxster in a few weeks. I’m stoked because it’s my dream car, but also really nervous since it’s my first high-end luxury sports car. I want to make sure it's got good coverage, just in case. What is Porsche’s warranty?

comes with a four-year/50,000 mile warranty that covers mechanical failures due to factory defects on the car’s engine, transmission, drivetrain, electrical system, and most of its interior and exterior parts. You also get a 12-year warranty that covers any parts damaged by rust or corrosion, as well as 24-hour roadside assistance for four years or 50,000 miles. Here’s what the warranty doesn’t cover:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage to the car’s body or windows caused by anything other than a manufacturing error.
- Basic maintenance items like spark plugs, brake pads, or filters.
- Aftermarket modifications added to the car after the initial purchase.
- Damage caused by improper care, abuse, track racing, natural disasters, theft, or vandalism.
