Sophie Newman is a writer from California. Her hobbies include brewing her own kombucha, riding horses, and taking long road trips.
“SAIP stands for Special Automotive Insurance Policy, an initiative available in New Jersey for those who qualify.
To qualify, you must be:
- a low-income driver
- eligible for Medicaid
Also known as dollar a day insurance, SAIP helps cover medical costs for drivers who would otherwise forego insurance.
With SAIP, drivers will receive coverage for just $365 a year, though it’s not a replacement for state minimum liability car insurance.”
