I went out drinking with my friends a few weeks ago and had a couple of beers. I made a bad decision to drive home and was stopped. I thought I was okay to drive, but I blew over—what’s the legal limit?

If you’re consuming alcohol, the safest thing to do is call a cab or have a designated driver take you home. Like most other states, the legal blood alcohol limit in
will remain on your driving record for 10 years and result in the following penalties:
Up to $1,000 fine
48 hours to six months of jail time or 32 hours of community service
Minimum 90-day driver’s license suspension
Possible required ignition interlock device (IID)
SR-22 required
A BAC exceeding 0.20% has more severe consequences, such as a two-year license suspension. You may also be required to complete a substance abuse program and driving course, and be given house arrest instead of jail time.
