What is covered under the Mazda extended warranty?

I’ve decided to buy a new car and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a Mazda. One thing I’m not sure of is whether or not I should buy Mazda’s extended warranty. What does it cover?

A little bit of research can save you a lot of money and many headaches.
Mazda’s
extended warranties cover repairs to Mazda-supplied parts.
Mazda offers two extended warranties:
  • The Extended Confidence warranty covers bumper-to-bumper repair and replacement of defective Mazda-supplied parts throughout your car
  • The Powertrain Confidence warranty specifically covers the mechanical parts that drive your car forward
Both warranties are good for nine years or 100,000 miles. During that time, Mazda will also cover 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, which pays the cost of towing your vehicle to the nearest Mazda-approved service center if you experience an issue with a Mazda-supplied part.
Remember that your extended warranty will only cover repairs for defective parts—not components wrecked during a car accident. That’s why you should pair your extended warranty with an excellent car insurance policy.
