What is causing the engine to crank and not start, even with starting fluid?

Every time I try to turn my car it cranks but won’t start, even after adding starting fluid! What is causing my car’s engine to keep cranking like this?

That is so frustrating!
Unfortunately, there may be a few reasons why your car cranks but won’t start, even after adding starting fluid. Here are some of the parts that may be causing your problem:
  • Insufficient fuel in the gas tank
  • Bad fuel pump
  • Faulty spark plugs
  • Bad timing belt or chain
  • Malfunctioning ignition
  • Failed camshaft or crankshaft sensor
Since there is no one way to tell what is causing this problem, your best option is to take your vehicle to a mechanic. They’ll have the expertise to diagnose the issue.
While you’re at the mechanic, now may also be a good time to update your
