What is an interlock system on a car?

I recently got a DUI, and now the state is requiring an interlock system. What is an interlock device?

That’s pretty standard after a DUI.
Also known as an ignition interlock device, or IID, an interlock system is a device connected to your car’s ignition system. It can check for alcohol on your breath, and you must register all zeros for the ignition system to work. This is typically installed for first or second time DUIs offenders in most states.
Be aware, you may find that your car insurance rates jump substantially after your DUI. You may even have a hard time finding a provider as many insurance companies won’t work with high-risk drivers.
That said, there are some insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance for high-risk drivers. While rates will still be high, you can find the best price by comparing quotes with Jerry.
Jerry will compile a list of quotes from top providers, so you can find a policy that works for you. Once you choose a provider, Jerry will take care of all paperwork for you.
