What is a Tahoe’s towing capacity?
My cousins and I head out to the lake each summer, so I’m looking for an SUV that can tow my speed boat. It weighs about 7,000 pounds (maybe a little over 7,000 when it’s all loaded up). I’m loving the Chevy Tahoe—it checks all the boxes. Still, I don’t know if it will haul my boat. What’s the towing capacity of a Tahoe?

The Tahoe’s a fantastic option, especially for summer boating trips! At its baseline, the Tahoe can tow about 7,600 pounds, which should be enough to pull your boat. If you want a little extra strength, you can also equip the Max Trailering Package—that’ll boost your towing capacity to 8,400 pounds.
Compared to other SUVs, the Tahoe has outstanding towing strength, and the Max Trailering Package shouldn’t set you back more than $500. All in all, the Tahoe is a great car for hauling, and it’s got plenty of space if all of your cousins want to pile in.
