What is a Hummer’s gas mileage?
I always loved Hummers growing up, so I was sad to see them go in 2010. I’m thinking about buying a used one, but I’ve heard horror stories about their gas mileage. Just how bad is the gas mileage on a Hummer?

We’re on the same page as you—there’s something about driving one of those massive Hummers that just feels right. Unfortunately, you’d have to stomach some pretty bleak gas mileage if you bought one—though they’re supposed to get 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, most Hummer owners only get 10 miles per gallon from their vehicle.
Still, if having low gas mileage doesn’t bother you too much, a 2010 Hummer H3 could be the right move for you!
In case you missed the announcement, you might have another option for a Hummer with better efficiency—GMC has recently
reintroduced the Hummer
as an all-electric pickup truck and SUV. It’s pricey (a little over $100,000), but it could give you the legendary power of a Hummer without draining your wallet with fuel expenses.Whether you go for an old-school Hummer H3 or the sweet new Hummer EV, it can’t hurt to have some extra cash in your pocket.
