I’m going to buy a new Honda, but as I’ve been shopping around, I’ve noticed some dealerships offer a lifetime warranty and some don’t. What is included in a Honda lifetime warranty?

Motor Company does not offer a lifetime warranty. However, some car dealerships designated as Honda retailers do offer what they call a lifetime warranty. The nature of Honda lifetime warranties offered by dealerships varies widely from retailer to retailer.
Does lifetime warranty mean the expected lifetime of the vehicle? The actual lifetime of the vehicle? Or the lifetime of the owner? The answer depends on which car dealer you’re buying from.
If you opt for a dealership that offers a lifetime warranty, be careful to read the fine print and understand just what the warranty does and doesn’t cover, as well as how long it lasts.
In the absence of a lifetime warranty, Honda does offer a Honda Care service contract. New Honda owners can purchase Honda Care coverage under a variety of plans, ranging from $0 deductible plans good for three years or 45,000 miles up to $100 deductible plans lasting eight years or 120,000 miles.
These plans offer extensive service coverage, including your car’s:
- Engine
- Air conditioning and heating
- Drive axle system
- Certain accessories
- Brakes
- ABS brakes
- Cooling system
- Fuel delivery
- Electrical system
- Manual components
- Rear differential
- Automatic or manual transmission
- Suspension
- Steering
- SRS system
