I’m shopping around for a dash cam for my vehicle and I keep seeing a feature called G-Sensor. All the reviews are saying it’s a great feature but I’ve never heard of it. What’s a G-Sensor?

Investing in a dash camera could come in handy! A G-Sensor on a dash cam is a built-in accelerometer that is designed to trigger your camera to begin recording if it detects an impact.
In other words, if someone or something strikes your car hard enough, the G-Sensor will cue the dash cam to document the collision. The dash cam will automatically lock the footage and save it to a separate downloadable file that you can view afterward.
The G-Sensor can be programmed to only be triggered when hit by a certain level of force so that it isn’t set off by something minor. This safety feature is found in more high-end vehicles like Cadillac, BMW, Tesla, and Mercedes-Benz, but you can also purchase a dash cam with G-Sensor technology.
