What is a 2015 Nissan Leaf battery upgrade?

I own a 2015 Nissan Leaf, and I’m fairly pleased with its performance thus far. However, it recently had some significant drop offs in range and speed, which concerned me. After talking to another Leaf owner, I learned that I might be able to upgrade the battery. What does a 2015 Nissan Leaf battery upgrade consist of?

A
2015 Nissan Leaf battery upgrade
generally involves putting a larger battery in the vehicle than the original stock battery.
The original battery on the Nissan Leaf is a 24-kWh battery that offers around 84 miles on a single charge. Compared to other electric vehicles, this is surprisingly scant in terms of distance.
As such, you can upgrade the battery in your 2015 Nissan Leaf with a 30-kWh, 40-kWh, or 62-kWh battery. For roughly the same price as a replacement battery, you can get up to 240 miles on a single charge, as well as increased speed and power.
