What if every car was electric?

I’ve read that many places across the world have plans to eventually stop the manufacture of or ban gas-powered cars by a certain time frame, but I wonder how that would really work in reality. What would the world be like if every car was electric?

If electric cars were to completely replace gas-powered cars, there are a few things that could potentially happen:
  • One study in the UK found that if the nation’s cars went entirely electric, it would cut total carbon emissions by nearly 12%.
  • In addition to
    emissions
being reduced, air pollution would be reduced, particularly in busy cities.
  • Electricity providers would need to build new power plants and upgrade transmission networks.
  • An increasing demand for electricity would promote the development of more renewable energy sources, like wind and solar power.
It’s hard to predict exactly what the future will look like, but hopefully, the increased adoption of EVs is a sign that we can build a more eco-friendly world.
