What happens to gas stations with electric cars?

My friend’s family owns and runs a gas station. I got my first job there, and it was a great job since everyone always needed gas. What happens to gas stations with the influx of electric cars?

Great question; this is one we get often. With the coming wave of electric cars, gas stations are sure to feel a hit in revenue. However, there is the option to adapt.
An article by
CNET
reported that up to 80% of gas stations could be unprofitable by 2035. It is important to note, however, that even if all cars on the road were electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles will still need gasoline to run, so gas stations won’t be made obsolete.
That being said, the pressure is on the gas station industry to maintain relevance in the consumer market. Perhaps there may be an opportunity to create more hybrid fuel stations if companies team up.
Gas stations may not work the exact same way. But for drivers who have longer wait times to charge their vehicles, convenience store and drive-through models may prove to be even more profitable than before.
