“If you collide with an animal and your vehicle is damaged, you will need
comprehensive insurance
to cover the damage.
Without it, your car insurance will not cover any of the damage.
This is because
liability car insurance

Comprehensive and collision insurance are the only coverages on a car insurance policy that will cover damage done to your vehicle, regardless of fault.”
