What happens if you don't have comprehensive car insurance in Maine?

Do I need comprehensive insurance, too? I only have liability and collision insurance on my Subaru.

Comprehensive car insurance protects your vehicle from damage arising from a source other than an accident or collision with another driver.
Some examples of these sources include:
  • animals
  • vandalism
  • natural disasters
While comprehensive insurance is not required in your state, it can be helpful to carry if you expect your car might be at risk for one or more of these perils and you don’t want to pay out-of-pocket for repairs.”
