What engine is in a Ford Explorer?

I don’t know what kind of engine my Ford Explorer has, so I’m not sure if it would be called powerful or not. I’ve been doing some yard work recently and I wondered if my car would be able to help me pull out a tree stump. Is the Ford Explorer considered a powerful car?

The
Ford Explorer
has a few different engine options, so your car may have any of the following:
  • A 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which can tow up to 5,300 pounds
  • A 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine, which can tow up to 5,600 pounds
  • A 3.3-liter hybrid engine, which can tow up to 5,000 pounds
With that being said, however, it will probably be difficult to pull a stump with your Ford Explorer, particularly if the stump is large or deeply rooted. You can give it a try, but you’ll likely need to dig around the stump and possibly even cut off some of the roots before you’ll be able to get it out of the ground.
