What engine is in a Ford Expedition?

I’ve been thinking about buying a 2020 Ford Expedition, but I’m worried that it might turn out to be one of those clunky, slow SUVs that can't handle their weight. Is the Expedition’s engine up to the task?

The standard 2020
Ford Expedition
comes with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. It has 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque and can be upgraded to 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque if you choose the Platinum trim option. That said, the Ford Expedition has a top speed of just 120 MPH, which is slower than its competition.
For comparison, most cars have a top speed between 140 and 160 MPH, so the Expedition does fall below average in that category. The Expedition also has a 0 to 60 time of seven seconds, meaning it takes a while to accelerate, too.
If you’re looking for speed and acceleration, the Expedition probably isn’t for you. However, it’s still a reliable vehicle with lots of great attributes, so it’s worth giving it a test drive before you dismiss it entirely!
