As the name indicates, the low engine oil light means your engine oil is too low and you’re due for more engine oil.
This is one of many important
dashboard lights
that car owners need to understand.
Engine oil keeps your engine lubricated and running correctly. The low engine oil light indicates you don’t have enough oil, the oil has become dirty, or there is an oil leak. That means your engine is in danger of overheating or becoming damaged.
When you see the low engine oil light, it’s time for an oil change! If you’re worried the culprit is a leak, get your car inspected as well when you take it in for the oil change.
While
car insurance
doesn’t cover oil changes, it does pay for a long list of potential other repairs and expenses. Make sure you’re properly covered by using insurance broker Jerry.
