The Kia Optima warranty includes a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty**—or at least it did when the car was purchased. The basic warranty covers all components bumper-to-bumper, while the powertrain warranty covers parts of the powertrain—including the engine, transmission, and drivetrain.
However, the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty swaps to a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty when a Kia is sold to a new owner. As the second owner of the Optima, you’ll get the remainder of both 5-year/60,000-mile warranties. This should last you a while on a 2020 Optima, so long as the previous owner didn’t rack up a ton of mileage!
