What does Ford axle code 39 mean?
The sticker on my truck's doorjamb has 39 printed in the axle column, but I don’t know what that means. Can you tell me what Ford axle code 30 means?

A truck’s axle code tells you what type of differential and ratio you have. For example, based on Ford axle code 39, it looks like you have a
Ford F250
with a 3.55 non-limited slip differential.
A non-limited slip differential is equipped with electronic operation control, so it only offers partial locking on slippery ground. Unfortunately, that means if you’re driving in foul weather or on rough terrain, your wheels might not get as much traction.
