What does boat insurance cover?

If I get boat insurance, I'd specifically be looking for motor coverage. Is this included on policies?

“Most boat owners or personal watercraft insurance policies do provide coverage for the motor. Other common things covered are:
  • Hull
  • Trailer
  • Equipment
  • Accessories
  • Personal effects
Most boat insurance policies also include
liability coverage
, as well as
medical payments
for you and your passengers in the event of an accident.
To help you find the best rates on the coverage you want, be sure to shop around. While boat motor coverage is common, not every company offers it. As you request quotes online or through agents, be sure to specify the coverage you’re looking for to ensure you’re getting what you want.
If your home or auto insurance provider offers boat insurance, you can also bundle both types of insurance by insuring your boat with your current provider. You’ll likely see a discount for having multiple policies with the same provider.
