What does an Acura TL’s “BRAKE” dash light mean?
While I was driving to work yesterday, I noticed a symbol come on my Acura TL’s dash that said BRAKE. I was worried there was something wrong with my brakes, but I was able to decelerate just fine. What else could could an Acura TL’s dash light mean?

I’m sorry that popped on while you were driving; I’m sure that was cause for a momentary panic! I’m glad your brakes were not out, and you could stop.
- Your parking brake is engaged
- Your brake fluid levels are low
- There is a problem with your brake system
Since you were driving when the light came on, it probably wasn’t because of your parking brake. Check your car’s brake fluid levels first, and if that doesn’t turn the indicator light turn off, take your car to a certified mechanic.
It is very dangerous to drive around with a potentially faulty brake system. It is also a bad idea to be driving around without a good
