What do I need to sell my car in Tennessee?

I have an old car that my dad gave to me and I want to sell it, but I’m not sure if I have all of the paperwork. What kinds of things do I need to sell my car in Tennessee?

If you’re planning on a private party sale, you’ll typically just need the
certificate of title
in order to sell your car in
Tennessee
. Visit the DMV with your buyer and perform a title transfer in order to complete the sale.
If you don’t have a title for your car, you’ll need to get a duplicate title before you can complete the sale. This can be done at your local DMV office—just fill out some paperwork and pay the associated $11.00 fee in order to get your new title.
Once you sell your car, you’ll need to update your
