What do I need to sell my car in Nevada?

I’m moving to Las Vegas, but my new place is within walking distance of my job and plenty of entertainment. As a result, I’m going to sell my car. My only issue is that I’ve never sold a car here, so I’m not sure what I need. What do I need to quickly and easily sell my car in Nevada?

Congrats on the move to Las Vegas! Selling a car in
Nevada
is a relatively easy process, but knowing what you need to have can streamline it. If you’re getting rid of your car, here’s what you need to sell your car in Nevada:
  • Get a lien release from your lender if you still owe money on the car.
  • Fill out a Bill of Sale, also known as form VP104, as it’s required by Nevada state law.
  • Fill out all relevant sections on the back of the title to transfer it to the buyer. Make sure to put your signature on the back.
  • Go to the Nevada DMV website and use the Registration Cancellation & Vehicle Resale Notification section to alert the DMV that you’ve sold the car.
As a final step, make sure to cancel your car insurance. If you decide to buy a car in the future, check out the
