You can keep your Direct Auto insurance ID card in your car or at home, so long as you have a way to access your ID card digitally.
Your mom is from a different generation. In her time, it was probably illegal to drive without physical proof of insurance in the vehicle. However, it is now legal in all 50 states to show digital
proof of car insurance on your phone
.
Of course, you can keep the ID card in your vehicle. It’s easy to whip out if you get pulled over or into an accident. But if you’d rather keep it at home or worry about losing it, know that you can always access your digital ID card.
Direct Auto has an app that, once you’re logged in, will display your digital ID card. You can also log onto the website for a digital ID card.
If you lose your physical card, contact a Direct Auto insurance agent at 1-877-463-4732 to ask for a replacement.
