What do I do if I can't get in touch with another driver's insurance company?

"A driver hit me and I can't get in touch with their insurance. How can I get the damages on my vehicle paid for?"

“If you haven’t already, you should speak with your own insurance. Even if the accident wasn’t your fault, you still need to inform them of the damages. They will help get in touch with the other driver’s insurance.
If you have collision insurance, they may recommend that you file a claim with your insurance first. Although you’ll have to pay your deductible, your vehicle would be repaired sooner.
Once they are able to get in touch with the other driver’s insurance and liability is accepted, they’ll try to recover the costs. This will often include reimbursement for your deductible.
If you don’t have collision insurance, you may need to wait for the other driver’s insurance to respond. If you have rental reimbursement coverage on your policy, you’ll also be able to get a rental car until it’s resolved.”
