What could cause a Mazda adaptive cruise control problem?

I was really excited when I found out that the new Mazda had adaptive cruise control. Since I’ve started trying to use it, though, it has been nothing but trouble. What could be causing a Mazda adaptive cruise control problem?

That sounds very frustrating and dangerous! Unfortunately, it’s not at all surprising to hear that you’re having adaptive cruise control (ACC) issues with your
Mazda
. There are four possible causes. It could be a blown fuse, a faulty brake switch, a malfunctioning speed sensor, or the problem could be due to systematic software and manufacturing problems.
Adaptive Cruise Control problems with erratic behavior and sudden failures have been fairly common in the last few batches of Mazda vehicles (2019-2021 specifically).
There is some talk about the possibility of a pending recall related to these ACC issues. At least one related recall has already been issued for the Mazda
CX-30
. It’s a good idea to go to the Mazda website and look up your vehicle by VIN to see if it is included in that or any other of Mazda’s recalls.
Serious safety issues like this are a good reminder of the importance of having quality
car insurance
