What company makes electric car charging stations?

I’m looking into buying an EV, but I know that charging can be a hassle and that not every charging station can charge every electric car. What brands of charging stations are there, and what EVs work with each charging station company?

Good for you, looking into electric car ownership! As for chargers, we’ve got good news, while some charging stations are exclusive to a particular car brand, most of them can charge any modern EV without a problem. The largest network of chargers in the U.S. belongs to ChargePoint, which has over 68,000 chargers available to use across the country. The cost to use ChargePoint chargers is set by the landowner leasing the chargers from ChargePoint, so rates vary from location to location. Tesla is actually the only car company that makes its charging network exclusive to its vehicles. That network is extensive, which is a big part of why the company continues to dominate the EV market. Of the 46,000 public charging stations in America, 908 of them are provided by Tesla. And with up to 50 chargers per station, that’s a large portion of the country’s plug-in ports. Besides Tesla and ChargePoint, you can find charging stations made by five other brands: EVgo, Blink, Volta, Wallbox, and the Volkswagen-owned Electrify America. These and ChargePoint’s charging stations are compatible with all modern EVs, including Teslas (with the help of an adapter) because they’re all made up of U.S. standard Level 2 chargers. Knowing about your access to charging stations is an important part of preparing for EV ownership, but it’s not the only thing you need to research. You should also find out what
