What color car is the most expensive to insure?

Is red the most expensive color to insure? My friend says he pays higher rates for insuring his red Camaro than he did with his silver one.

“If you’re looking for a new car or are concerned about choosing a color, don’t be! Many factors have a bearing on
car insurance
rates. Thankfully, color isn’t one.
Vehicle type, age, and theft rate are much more significant factors for determining risk. In all likelihood, your friend’s new Camaro is more expensive to insure because it’s more costly to replace damaged parts. A newer car is always more expensive based on its actual cash value, not because his insurance company believes red is an inherently
riskier color
.
Since your friend’s insurance rates increased, he should shop around. Rates vary between companies and he may find a better rate elsewhere.
