What class of car is a Toyota Yaris?

I need to buy a new car, and I’m hoping to get something small and relatively inexpensive. I’ve been looking at the Toyota Yaris but I’m not sure if it’s too small. What class of car is a Yaris?

Toyota Yaris
 is small, which is why it’s classified as a subcompact or supermini car. That said, for a car of its size, it does have a good cargo capacity and can comfortably seat four adults.
