What car safety features are required by law?

What are some of these car safety features that the government requires? I know that the government passed laws that made certain safety features mandatory.

“It really depends on how far back you go. In 1966, the government mandated seat belts; in 1998, dual front air bags were legally required.
Since then, the government has mandated several safety features on all new cars. Today, new cars must have:
  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Anti-lock brakes
  • LATCH child safety seat system
  • Traction control
  • Electronic stability control
As safety features become more advanced, it’s likely that the government will eventually mandate advanced safety features that mitigate the chance of accidents, such as adaptive cruise control or automatic stopping. Any car with advanced safety features is great buy because it keeps you safe and may help lower your monthly

bills.
While car insurance is not a safety feature in a car, it is another means of keeping you and other drivers safe. With proper coverage, any damages to your vehicle or any injuries will be covered by insurance. To ensure you have the best coverage possible, try the
