A clean air filter is essential for the engine’s combustion process to work as it should. In order to deal with a dirty air filter in your car, you’re probably going to have one of two options:
  • Clean it: Remove the air filter, use an appropriate cleaning solution (most gentle all-purpose cleaners generally work, but double-check that what you’re using is compatible with your filter), and rinse the filter thoroughly. Let it dry out completely, then oil it as needed, if the filter requires it, before putting it back.
  • Replace it: All air filters will need to be replaced at some point. If yours has reached the point of no return, you might just have to replace it with a new one.
Now that you know what you can do about a dirty air filter in your car, do you know what you can do about a
car insurance
policy that just isn’t working anymore?
