There could be a few issues that could cause your Dodge Ram to suddenly start ticking. The most common reason is low oil pressure or low oil levels.
Luckily, it’s easy to check and see if this is the case.
  • Open your hood
  • Find the oil reservoir
  • Use the dipstick to check the oil level
If it’s low, you can add more oil to get it to the fill line or take it to a mechanic for an oil change. If your oil pressure is low, you may notice oil leaking from your vehicle, or your oil pressure light will illuminate on the dashboard.
There are a couple of other issues that can cause ticking, like an issue with the ignition system or an exhaust leak. These problems are a little more difficult to diagnose, so you’ll want to have a mechanic look over your vehicle to determine the exact cause.
It can be a little scary when your vehicle starts making unexpected noises, but shopping for affordable
car insurance
doesn’t have to be terrifying.
