What are the pros and cons of automatic and manual transmissions?

“Cars with automatic transmissions are way easier to drive. However, they also cost more upfront, require more maintenance over time, and are less fuel-efficient.
But new technology has improved automatic transmissions. When equipped with a paddle shifter option, newer automatic transmissions give the driver almost as much control over the car as a manual transmission would. New automatic transmissions are also way more fuel-efficient.
Cars with manual transmissions give you more control. They are also cheaper upfront, require less maintenance, and are more fuel-efficient.
The downside with a manual transmission is that it’s harder to operate and requires more skill. And in this day and age, when many drivers prefer automatic transmissions, you may have a harder time reselling a car with a manual transmission. “
