You’re right! The 2020 infotainment update has some excellent improvements—and you’ll need to visit your dealer for installation.
While Outbacks are not particularly known for their infotainment systems, they do have a ton of useful features. You can optimize the display settings and arrange the visuals in different ways. Drivers can select which icons live at the bottom of the screen.
Unfortunately, the 2020 system lags slightly behind the 2021 system. The good news is that you’re entitled to a free infotainment upgrade! When you upgrade your Subaru Outback, you get:
- Improved boot-up time
- Apple CarPlay full-screen
- Turn-by-turn directions displayed in CarPlay’s gauge cluster
