What are the best value classic cars?

I’m looking to surprise my wife for our 10th anniversary with a classic car. What are the best value classic cars?

The best value
classic cars
are the 1969 AMC Javelin, the 1972 Triumph TR6, the 1970
Chevrolet
Monte Carlo, the 1971 Datsun 240Z, and the 1967
Volkswagen
Karmann Ghia.
Most classic cars don’t come cheap. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find a fetching one at a reasonable price. Here are five of the best value classics.
1969 AMC Javelin On the market for roughly $13,600, the AMC Javelin is an underappreciated gem—an affordable, handsome, and V8-powered mini muscle car. American Motors has been defunct since 1988, but its legacy lives on in the sporty Javelin.
1972 Triumph TR6 Convertible Go full English with this shifty little British roadster. The Triumph TR6 Convertible costs roughly $14,200. Its beautiful design comes with a 2.5 L straight 6 engine and 106 horsepower. It also sports a 4-speed manual transmission. Absolutely cracking.
1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo You can find a used Monte Carlo for about 14,800. This scary, imposing, and slightly odd-looking muscle car (we call it the Anton Chigurh of muscle cars) boasts big-time power with its 5.7 L Turbo Fire V8 engine and 250 horsepower.
1971 Datsun 240Z When most carmakers went big during the ‘70s, Japanese automaker Datsun went small with the 240Z sports coupe. This lightweight joyride boasts a 2.4 L 6-cylinder engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, and 150 horsepower.
1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Everyone talks about the Beetle, but we’re smitten with the VW Karmann Ghia, a sportier, better-looking coupe. The ‘67 KG came with a hydraulic clutch and disc brakes along with a 1.5-L flat-4 engine and just 53 horsepower. Not the most powerful classic car, but a shifty coupe that’s a ball to drive.
