The University of Tampa is a great starting point for your trip to the biggest city on the Gulf Coast of

. The university itself has one of the top attractions in Plant Hall, a minaret-adorned former hotel that’s now part of the school. But if you want to explore on your own, the city has tons to do. Here are some of the best things to do in Tampa:- Grab a cigar in Ybor City. Once home to a thriving cigar industry, Tampa’s Ybor City neighborhood is now lined with nightclubs and bars. But aside from these establishments, you can find cigar bars for a fine puff that pairs great with two fingers of scotch.
- See a show at the Tampa Theater. Built in 1926, this historic theater is ornate in every way possible. Plus, it has an old Wurlitzer organ to add a little touch of the Roaring ’20s.
- Go to Gasparilla. This pirate festival welcomes over 100,000 parade-goers in a celebration that pays homage to a pirate that couldn’t quite take the city.
