What are the best things to do in Monterey?
My family and I live in San Francisco and we are thinking about taking a quick day trip to Monterey. What are some things we should be sure to do while we are there?

Monterey is a great place to visit, especially with your family! Although there is plenty to do in Monterey, I’ll break down just a few highlights.
The Monterey Aquarium is the most well-known attraction in Monterey and one of the best aquariums in the country, so it’s a must-see even if you only have a day to explore. Some of the wildlife you’ll see at the aquarium includes:
- Sharks
- Penguins
- Sea Otters
- Jellyfish
Tickets for both children and
senior citizens
cost less at the Monterey Aquarium, and there’s free admission for children under the age of four. After you’re done with the aquarium you should take some time to check out Old Fisherman’s Wharf. This boardwalk is loaded with stores and restaurants that you can frequent while being a little less crowded than what you might find
in San Francisco
